Wrapping up 2024 with CareMatch

It’s hard to believe another year has flown by! As we wrap up 2024 and shift into holiday mode, let’s take a moment to celebrate the milestones we’ve achieved together and look ahead to the exciting opportunities awaiting us in 2025. Check it all out below.

Reflecting on 2024

Team highlights

This year, we’ve had so many reasons to celebrate the amazing people who make CareMatch what it is. Each month, we took a moment to shine a light on our carers and their dedication to the community. Wrapping up the year, we’re excited to share that Julie Wolsey has been named Support Worker of the Year for her incredible work with clients, mentoring the East Palm Beach team, and lending a helping hand in the office. And for Team of the Year? Big congratulations to Matt Greer’s team – your reward is awaiting!

We also welcomed Fiona Schenk as our Nursing Manager this year. She’s already making a difference with her professionalism and client-first approach. On the flip side, we said a bittersweet goodbye to Asher Weddell, who’s off pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse – we couldn’t be happier for her!

Community

This year was all about connection and collaboration. We joined Queensland Health’s co-design discussions for the Spinal Cord Injury Service Delivery Model, which contributed to its impactful launch. Our involvement with the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation deepened as we proudly supported their incredible work as Platinum Sponsors. We also attended industry events like the ANZSCOS conference in Perth, learning so much along the way.

Clients and operations

Growth has been a big theme for us this year. We worked hard to enhance our systems and process to ensure consistent, high-quality care for all our clients while welcoming new participants to the CareMatch family. We also expanded our reach into South Australia and New South Wales, bringing our services to even more people.

Special projects

We’ve had some exciting projects in the works this year! At East Palm Beach SDA, our Onsite Shared Supports (OSS) model continues to make a difference, and we’re happy to have resumed our fly-in, fly-out care service for regional participants in NSW.

We also had the chance to check out the plans for Accessible Homes Australia’s Urraween Village Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) project in Hervey Bay at their launch event. Set to open in 2026, it’s an exciting step toward creating an inclusive and welcoming living space, and we can’t wait to see it come to life. Share it around to anyone you know looking for new SDA accommodation.

Looking ahead to 2025

As we gear up for the year ahead, there’s so much to be excited about!

Team development

We’re looking forward to investing even more into our people. In 2025, we’ll keep focusing on training and development to empower our team while growing our network of amazing support staff. Fiona’s role as Nursing Manager is going to be a big part of strengthening the connections we have with our clients and stakeholders.

Business growth

We’re expanding! Next year, we’ll continue growing across Queensland, South Australia, and New South Wales. Plus, we’re working towards completing our NDIS registration, which will help us support even more people. We’re also planning to take the success of our OSS model and roll it out in new locations.

Continued excellence

At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to providing consistent, personalised care. As we welcome more people into the CareMatch community, we’ll keep building strong relationships and delivering the best service possible.

Community

We’re staying involved and making an impact in the disability care community. In 2025, we’ll continue proudly supporting the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation as Platinum Sponsors and taking part in key events that drive innovation in spinal cord injury care.

Here’s to an exciting year ahead! Let’s make it another one to remember.
