Team highlights
This year, we’ve had so many reasons to celebrate the amazing people who make CareMatch what it is. Each month, we took a moment to shine a light on our carers and their dedication to the community. Wrapping up the year, we’re excited to share that Julie Wolsey has been named Support Worker of the Year for her incredible work with clients, mentoring the East Palm Beach team, and lending a helping hand in the office. And for Team of the Year? Big congratulations to Matt Greer’s team – your reward is awaiting!
We also welcomed Fiona Schenk as our Nursing Manager this year. She’s already making a difference with her professionalism and client-first approach. On the flip side, we said a bittersweet goodbye to Asher Weddell, who’s off pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse – we couldn’t be happier for her!
Community
This year was all about connection and collaboration. We joined Queensland Health’s co-design discussions for the Spinal Cord Injury Service Delivery Model, which contributed to its impactful launch. Our involvement with the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation deepened as we proudly supported their incredible work as Platinum Sponsors. We also attended industry events like the ANZSCOS conference in Perth, learning so much along the way.
Clients and operations
Growth has been a big theme for us this year. We worked hard to enhance our systems and process to ensure consistent, high-quality care for all our clients while welcoming new participants to the CareMatch family. We also expanded our reach into South Australia and New South Wales, bringing our services to even more people.
Special projects
We’ve had some exciting projects in the works this year! At East Palm Beach SDA, our Onsite Shared Supports (OSS) model continues to make a difference, and we’re happy to have resumed our fly-in, fly-out care service for regional participants in NSW.
We also had the chance to check out the plans for Accessible Homes Australia’s Urraween Village Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) project in Hervey Bay at their launch event. Set to open in 2026, it’s an exciting step toward creating an inclusive and welcoming living space, and we can’t wait to see it come to life. Share it around to anyone you know looking for new SDA accommodation.
