May marks a month of birthday celebrations

May was a month filled with birthdays throughout our CareMatch team! Again, we would like to wish a very happy birthday to Lloyd, Dan and Ken. Lloyd, one of our team leaders and rugby union superstars, turned 38, while Dan, another team leader, celebrated his 30th birthday. Ken, one of our dedicated carers, marked his 31st birthday. It was also my own 35th birthday just this week!

Mother’s Day

With Mother’s Day earlier this month, we would like to take a moment to celebrate all the incredible mothers out there.

Whether you’re a mother receiving our care, or a carer who is a mother, your love makes a profound difference in the lives surrounding you. To all the amazing mothers in our CareMatch community, we hope you had a great day!

Mental Health Awareness Week

During Mental Health Awareness week this month, we turned our focus to nurturing the foundations of mental wellbeing. This important week reminded us of the six building blocks to help improve our mental health. These are: Get Healthy, Keep Learning, Show Kindness, Connect More, Take Notice (Be Mindful), and, Embrace Nature. Mental health can often go unnoticed and unsupported, but it’s these little things that add up and make a positive impact. Let’s continue to prioritise our own mental well-being, and create a supportive community that champions mental health all year round. We look forward to the next dose of mental health conversation, with Queensland’s Mental Health Awareness week booked later this year, from October 7 – 15.

That’s a wrap for this month’s CareMatch Newsletter. Thank you for being a part of our CareMatch community. Stay connected with us for more updates, stories, and highlights of the incredible individuals who make CareMatch special.
