Welcome to the August edition of the CareMatch newsletter – there’s been a lot happening this month!

First up, we’re proud to announce that we’ve become a Platinum Sponsor for the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation! We’ve been long-time friends and supporters of the foundation and its groundbreaking work to cure paralysis, so it’s an honour for us to solidify this partnership even more.

We’re also happy to share the expansion of our support in Sydney as we welcome new clients and support workers to the CareMatch family. Additionally, our services at East Palm Beach, Queensland, are growing, with more resident participants embracing our innovative Onsite Shared Support (OSS) care model.

Now, inside this newsletter, you’ll discover more about our expansion into South Australia, our role in providing clinical support for the human trials of the Spinal Injury Project, and the return of SIPtember run by the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation. Support workers – don’t miss out on the opportunity to upskill, and, find out our latest carer of the month too.

CareMatch has expanded into South Australia

CareMatch is now operating in South Australia! Driven by a client’s desire to continue receiving our services as she moved from Queensland, we commenced our planning in June. By mid-July, we were up and running! We’re proud to have made this happen so fast, ensuring our client’s care remains consistent and top-notch with us.

CareMatch to provide clinical supports for the human trials of the Spinal Injury Project

This month, we had the incredible opportunity to tour the Spinal Injury Project and Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation’s lab at Griffith University.

We were in awe as we learned more about the groundbreaking work these internationally acclaimed researchers are doing to repair spinal cord injuries – something most of our community thought was impossible.

As a specialised provider in spinal cord injury care, we’re now onboard to support the clinical trial phase of this revolutionary study. Along with a team of physiotherapists our very own Nursing team, led by Nursing Manager Fiona Schenk, has entered into an agreement to provide essential clinical supports to help maintain and manage skin integrity throughout this critical trial phase.

We’re so honoured to be a part of this incredible journey and we can’t wait to see the results. To learn more about the Spinal Injury Project click the button below.

It’s back again – Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundations’ SIPtember!

September is almost upon us, otherwise known as, “SIPtember” – and you know what that means… SIP Week!

From the 2 – 8 September, you can sip through a straw and help those living with paralysis. As the Perry Cross Spinal Research Foundation (PCSRF) puts it, you don’t have to run a marathon, or even break a sweat. Just drink all of your beverages through a straw and raise funds to find a cure for paralysis.

Discover how you can get involved in the PCSRF SIP Week fundraiser below.

Support workers: This is your chance to upskill

Last year, we made the move to invest in the growth and development of our CareMatch team when we launched our partnership with National Disability Services (NDS) and etrainu. This provides our support workers with access to 100+ training assets developed by NDS experts, that are mapped to meet the 4 core NDIS practice standards.

To our support team: Take this opportunity to upskill and build your career. Email Asher via asher.weddell@carematchaustralia.com.au to get started.

Congratulations to Nella Bradford, our August Carer of the Month! Despite being new to the team, Nella has quickly applied herself, developed her skills, and hit the ground running. Her dedication and rapid growth have made a significant impact, and we’re so happy to recognise her outstanding contributions. Keep up the amazing work, Nella!
